A short film I wrote in June 2014 is full steam ahead in pre-production. Based on true events that took place in Poland in 1991, the film tells the story of a 9-year-old girl that is asked to testify in a domestic abuse court hearing. Her mother is the plaintiff, her father – the defendant. The girl testifies in a courtroom in front of a judge, with both parents present. While by today’s standards putting a child under such pressure is unthinkable, hearings like that took place in Poland until 2005.
We have great cast onboard, including Clodagh Downing (Patsy Dick, Darkness on The Edge Of Town), and Neill Fleming (The Hit Producer, Game of Thrones). The film will be produced by Matthew Toman from Bankhouse Productions (Family, Don’t You Recognise Me?) and Cara Bamford from Foxrock Productions. Alan Rogers (Family, Bridge to Kindness) joins us as DOP, and Alan Tully (Metanoia, Pin / Do) will edit & score the film.
